Bad Teacher Trailer: Cameron Diaz Wants Justin Timberlake For His Money

Justin Timberlake will be following up on his newfound credibility as a movie star twice this summer, once in the romantic comedy Friends With Benefits opposite Mila Kunis (another actor suddenly taken much more seriously now that she's in an Oscar-nominated film). But first up, on June 24, is Bad Teacher, that stars Timberlake's ex Cameron Diaz as a foulmouthed middle school teacher who suddenly decides to become good at her job in order to save up for a boob job.

It's telling that the very first trailer for the film to go online is red-band, and opens with Diaz saying over hamburgers, almost offhand, "Fuck my ass." It only gets dirtier and sillier from there, with Diaz deciding to woo the new substitute teacher played by Diaz, smoking pot on school grounds, swearing at students and, for some reason, volunteering for a school car wash wearing clothes better suited to her character in the Charlie's Angels movies. There's a lot going on in the trailer, and it's hard to know if it'll all fit together in a coherent or actually funny movie. And there's a disappointing lack of Jason Segel, so it's hard to know if his role is really small or just hard to explain in a quick trailer. But with Jake Kasdan directing, his first film since the hilarious and terribly underrated Walk Hard, and The Office's Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg writing, there's reason for a little bit of blind faith.

Columbia Pictures has released a red band trailer for Bad Teacher and — oh, my! I’m sure I’ve seen red band trailers with more debauchery, but this one packed a punch. As the titular bad teacher, Cameron Diaz whips through the comedy like a tornado, and the supporting cast — including Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel, Phyllis Smith, and Lucy Punch — appears content as both sounding board and target for her cynical destruction. There is a wisp of plot, in which Diaz ups her game to win a teaching bonus so that she can afford the breast implants that would apparently appeal to Timberlake. But no, this is primarily Diaz cashing in on her sweetheart reputation in the filthiest way she can think of. We can only hope Bad Teacher finally gives director Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard, Freaks and Geeks) the monster hit he deserves.

Synopsis (according to Deadline): “Firth plays a London art curator who plans to con a wealthy collector into buying a phony Monet painting. He enlists a Texas steer roper (Diaz) to pose as a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of WWII.”

This just goes to show that not everyone is suffering in these tough economic times! 'Knight and Day' star Cameron Diaz reportedly just spent $10 million on a new home in a private, gated community in Beverly Hills.

The English "cottage-style" property is said to be approximately 5,000 sq ft with six and a half bathrooms, a spacious open plan living room with two areas for seating as well as a dining room. The property reportedly also has a detached three-bedroom guest house, tennis court, and a swimming pool with a hot tub.

Not bad!

The home was once owned by Candice Bergen and famous neighbors include Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem as well as Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.

Cameron also reportedly owns a $1.35 million home nearby.

Despite this purchase, Cameron told an interviewer recently that she really just wanted to move away from Hollywood and live on a farm.

"I've always been on the move so what I'd love to do is spend a whole year in one place, on a farm. I'd get to raise my own crops and livestock, and for once just see how life is cultivated."

I guess Cameron decided to delay that dream for a while :)

Cameron Diaz landed by helicopter in Rio de Janeiro yesterday, joining Tom Cruise for the Brazilian premiere of Knight and Day. They both had a break from their busy promoting schedules to spend Fourth of July in the states and the costars picked opposite coasts for their holiday weekend. Cameron stayed in NYC where she hung out with Alex Rodriguez at a Broadway show while Tom made the trip back to California to be with Katie Holmes and Suri. Tom's family had more than just Independence Day to celebrate since Saturday was his 48th birthday, and they recognized the milestone with a trip to the mall.
Last night Tom and Cameron were all dressed up and showing off those movie star smiles for their screening. Tom was presented with a soccer jersey, while Cameron showed off her long legs thanks to a high slit in her tight black dress. LOL! I guess those are some great qualities to have.

The actress also admitted that she doesn't mind the wrinkles that come with age and insists that she feels the best she's ever felt.

"The more I work on my body at this age, the better it gets," adds Diaz. "I feel so much more attractive now. A thousand percent. I'm appreciating my skin and my wrinkles and all those things."

The only way to stop aging "is if you die!

And what about dating Mr. A ROD? How's that going?

"I grew up with the Dodgers, but now I'm a Yankees fan," she says coyly.

I had to do a double-take when I read the caption of this photo set. I showed you the set of pictures this morning when she was leaving the gym and then this set was labeled, saying she had a helicopter ride today in Brazil. After a bit of investigating, Cameron Diaz isn't the first human to perfect teleporting or anything like that - she was at the gym over the weekend and then headed off to Rio where she DID take a ride in the sky today. LOL!

Cameron must be enjoying a bit of down time after all the promotion she did for 'Knight and Day'. I don't know if the helicopter ride this morning was a travel necessity or just for pleasure. Have you ever been in one?

'Knight and Day' star Cameron Diaz said she's reached the point in her career where she doesn't feel she has to prove herself as an actress.

"I don't feel like I need to prove anything to anybody. When you start out and people identify with you they want to keep you how they remembered you the first time they fell in love with you. It's like a relationship. But that doesn't concern me as I've always tried to be true to myself and move at a pace that was right for me."

I'd say Cameron's strategy has worked pretty well: check out her list of credits! She's done big commercial action movies like 'Charlie's Angels,' dramatic films like 'My Sister's Keeper,' small indie films like 'Being John Malkovich' (where she wasn't even recognizable!), and animated films (the 'Shrek' franchise).

I don't think anyone doubts Cameron's acting ability. Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily translate to guaranteed box office success: 'Knight and Day' (co-starring Tom Cruise) posted disappointing opening day sales at the box office, according to Deadline Hollywood.

But hey, you can't win them all, and whose to say things won't turn around over the weekend?

'Knight and Day' Nets $3.8 Million Opening Day

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz’s Knight and Day got off to a disappointing start at the box office on Wednesday, earning $3.8 million at the box office in the U.S. and Canada.

The action comedy came in second to Toy Story 3, which netted $13 million (via L.A. Times).

Depending on weekend ticket sales, the film may not gross the early estimated $25 million by Sunday.

On if she’s dating Yankees hunk Alex Rodriguez: “No, no, no. I’ve been in relationships since I was 16-years old. In the past three years I’ve made a conscious decision not to be in a relationship for as long as I want. I’ve stayed away from all the traps out there for me to just fall into something that will potentially lead me down the same road … I want to have a relationship with myself right now.”

On reuniting with ex Justin Timberlake for the romantic comedy, Bad Teacher: “We’re adults. Of course, we could work together. It’s been three years since we broke up. It’s all done … We’re friends; he’s really talented and funny, and we’re good at being funny together. A great dynamic we have is that we love laughing together … he’s so hilarious.”

On differentiating sexuality and love: “I can be attracted to a woman sexually, but it doesn’t mean I want to be in love with a woman. If I’m going to be with a woman sexually, it doesn’t mean I’m a lesbian. We put these restraints and definitions on people, but it’s hard to define.”

On having an open love life: “I never shut down any man who’s willing to ask me out unless he’s a total douche bag. It takes a lot for a guy to ask out a girl like me – not because I think I’m super special or anything. It’s just that I think men are intimidated, and it’s a lot to get involved with. It’s not uncomplicated.”

She's back on the East Coast after her duties promoting Shrek Forever After, which was number one at the holiday weekend box office ahead of both Prince of Persia and Sex and the City 2. Her visit to the Big Apple means Cameron has a chance to spend more time with Alex Rodriguez, but she'll be back in LA by Sunday to attend the MTV Movie Awards. Cameron Diaz sat down with British Vogue for it's July issue and dished about everything from sex to plastic surgery to A-Rod.
On keeping herself looking and feeling young:
"The fountain of youth [for me], let's see...I guess it's exercise, healthy diet, lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex -- yes, sex, we need that as human beings. It's healthy, it's natural, it's what we are here to do!"
Do you agree? Do you think a lot of sex will keep you young?
She also shared that she won't rule out plastic surgery - never say never.
And she says she's resisted plastic surgery -- for now. "Yeah, well, hey. I'm not doing anything right now," she tells the mag. "But we'll see. So far, so good. But I'll never say never to anything."
They tried to get her to admit to her relationship with Alex Rodriguez, asking her if she was in love:
"You know what? Yes I am. I'm in love with life."
Nice try by the interviewer, but I don't imagine Cameron will give up any details about this romance.
She also says that she's loved playing the gold digging character in the upcoming "Bad Teacher".
"I'm having the best time playing her," she says. Her character "doesn't give a s*** about anyone but herself. I'm sure we'll offend everyone with it, which is great."
I'm REALLY looking forward to this movie!

Cameron Diaz was photographed heading into lululemon in NYC yesterday afternoon. A photographer got a little too close for comfort and the actress flipped her bag over her shoulder hitting the man in the face.
Ever since Cameron started to date A-Rod, she's had a TON of attention. Perhaps it's getting to be too much to handle.
It doesn't help that she has a new movie coming out with Tom Cruise. The paparazzi are already hounding her because of 'Knight and Day'. Guess the girl just needed a break.

Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez exits Serafina Fabulous Grill after reportedly lunching with rumored girlfriend Cameron Diaz on the Upper East Side of New York City on Wednesday (June 2).
On Saturday night (May 29), the couple entertained a table of friends at West Village eatery The Lion.
A spywitness tells The Post, “They arrived around 10 p.m. with a group of eight friends and sat in the private lounge upstairs. The staff took turns guarding the ropes that led to their upstairs room, which was theirs exclusively for the dinner party.”
Yesterday, Cameron (in Dsquared2 Eyewear) was seen shopping at athletic clothing store, Lululemon. She even got playful, hitting a photographer with one of her bags.

She's back in California after a stay in NYC, which started with promoting Shrek at the Tribeca Film Festival, but soon became a personal trip with rumored new boyfriend Alex Rodriguez. Last week, she was spotted leaving his apartment one morning and they traded the Big Apple for Boston for a romantic weekend shacked up at his hotel while he was there playing the Red Sox. One place Cameron evidently won't be seen with Alex is at his games, as he reportedly banned her from attending after the chaos caused by Kate Hudson's appearances last year.

In this new screencap, the 37-year-old actress carries a few bags of luggage into her waiting SUV.
The night before, the two dined at Hotel Griffou with Cameron’s former Holiday costar, newly single Kate Winslet.
“They all shared a delicious meal and several bottles of French red wine,” a source told NY Post of the couple (they’ve been linked since February).
On April 30, Cam, 37, and A-Rod, 34, dined at NYC’s Macao Trading Co. with her pal Drew Barrymore.
